We build on a long-term discourse with institutions, associations, foundations and initiatives whose spheres of action overlap with the fields of interest of cultural entrepreneurship.

Haus der elektronischen Künste Basel

HeK is dedicated to digital culture and the new art forms of the information age. It is a place for creative and critical discourse on the aesthetic, socio-political and economic impact of media technologies. HeK shows contemporary art that explores and configures new technologies; it promotes an aesthetic practice that uses information technology as a medium, makes it vividly accessible and actively intervenes in its processes. HeK thereby addresses the pressing issues of twenty-first-century culture and makes an active contribution to their future evolution.

IBA Basel 2020

IBA Basel 2020 is the first international building exhibition to cross national borders and take place simultaneously in three countries – Germany, France and Switzerland. This leap across the borders reflects IBA Basel’s central objective. The three sub-regions no longer want to stand back to back. With the help of IBA Basel, they want to exploit the common potential of the agglomeration and develop a coherent living space for its inhabitants.

Atelier Mondial

Atelier Mondial is an international and interdisciplinary grant program offering artists in various disciplines, such as the visual arts, digital media arts, dance and literature, from the Basel Region (Cantons of Basel-Stadt, Basel-Land and Solothurn), Southern Baden and the Alsace the opportunity to spend several months abroad in one of 11 partner countries. Once a year these approximately fourteen studio grants are open for applications, as well as one travel grant for an independent project. The studio grant consists of a financial contribution to help cover living expenses as well as the free-of-charge use of a studio with an apartment or a live-in studio abroad. A professional jury selects approximately fourteen grantees per year.

Stellwerk Basel

Since the end of 2010, the Stellwerk association has been operating a founder centre for creative industries in the former St. Johann station building in Basel. The offer enables ambitious cultural and creative people who dare to take the step into self-employment to find an attractive environment at interesting conditions. With discounted studio rents, network events, workshops and consulting services, we support and accompany our tenants for up to five years during their start-up phase.
At the heart of the project are the 22 studios and common rooms (kitchen, workshop and meeting rooms) on three floors in the central part of the former SBB railway station with a total of 26 companies and 44 young entrepreneurs. Internal and public events and workshops are organised in the ‘Loco Motive’ meeting room.
