Many producers of electronic music use self-made instruments to bring their music to the stage. In doing so they must take on two roles: interaction designers and instrumentalists. These two roles, however, demand for different skills, that not every musician can cover. This is where Tactile Audio comes in. With instruments that offer full freedom in sound design, but have a firmly defined interaction design, musicians are able to concentrate on their work and benefit from high-quality interaction design at the same time. The first product, TCTL-01, is based on a Multi-Touch trackpad. This sensor is widely used, but not in the electronic instrument market. Thus, Tactile Audio offers a new and innovative instrument based on a familiar gesture repertoire.
